Proposal for DVD cover and sleeve

Proposal for graphics project

Format and Medium: DVD poster and sleeve

Sector: These materials will be used for the marketing of a film. They will be experienced in print form. For example, in a magazine or a billboard.

Working title: "Another Average Day…"
I chose this title because it implies that Kayleigh has hallucinations frequently which makes the days that she has them "average".

Genre: Horror

Intended audience and age: 18

Summary of content: "When Kayleigh's sister is kidnapped, everything begins to go wrong, after the kidnapper demands a ransom, she starts to go crazy because she doesn't know where her sister is. Kayleigh eventually starts having hallucinations of demons, but she prepares a group to help find her sister. They soon realise that something is not quite right with her…"

Summary of style: The DVD sleeve and poster will look spooky, but not scary because while the girl on the cover is looking over the field, there is a pair of eyes in the sky which suggests that she hallucinates these type of things. Even though the colours on them are mostly dark, it would stand out from other DVD's because the eyes in the sky make it original. The impression I'm trying to give through the poster and sleeve is that it will be made to spook you and scare you a little bit, but not scare you too much. It will still be classed as a horror because of the violence that would be in it.

Legal and ethical considerations: On the website: https://jodieeleanor.wordpress.com/unit-7-4/ethical-and-legal-constraints-withing-the-industry/ethical-issues/ ; it states that "In the UK according to Ofcom, the watershed on television is between 21:00 and 05:30. This means that programmes with adult content, rated 15 cannot be shown outside if this eight and a half hour period." With this information, my film would be shown after the watershed as I have rated the film an 18, it will also be shown after the watershed as it would contain graphic scenes of violence.
